Who: Asian American/Pacific Islander Resource Center

What: Community Reception

Where: Conference Room D

When: October 12th, 4:30-6:30pm

Why: It’s a chance for students to mix, mingle, eat and meet members of the AA/PI community. You also get the chance to meet and talk with staff and faculty on campus. PLUS, your officers Tran will be MC-ing the event and Brian will be representing UCSC Badminton so come and show your support!

East Field

Who: Office of Physical Education, Recreation, Sports and Wellness (OPERS)

What: OPERS Fall Festival

Where: Upper East Field

When: September 19th, 2006 3:00-6:00pm

Why: The fall festival is designed to familiarize new students with OPERS programs and facilities and provides a chance for student organizations and student services units to meet and talk with students in an informal setting. It also provides a festive environment for new students to meet other new students.

Admission: Free

UC Davis Badminton is holding their annual Fall Open. It will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday, October 14th and 15th in their Pavilion. Their events consist of:

A,B,C,D, M/W Singles and Mixed on Saturday and A,B,C,D, M/W Doubles on Sunday.

Cash prizes will be given out to A’s 1st and 2nd place.
A M/W Singles: 1st- $100 2nd- $50
A Mixed: 1st- $200 2nd- $100
A M/W Doubles: 1st- $200 2nd- $100
To keep in mind, cash prizes may be changed upon the amount of entries
received. The amount listed above will only be given out if they have a
minimum of 8 entries. Trophies will be given out to A cons and B,C,D winners.

Parking is Free all day Saturday and Sunday.
Deadline is midnight, Friday, October 6th, 2006. Any entries received after, there will be a strict $5 charge. There will be team/club discounts of 10 or more people, so bring your friends.
